The New York Times reports today that Hewlett-Packard is now offering a 'print on demand' service called MagCloud. For those looking for something slightly less ephemeral than a web site or blog, this awkwardly-named service offers to print short-run magazines at a cost of 20 cents per page. The article doesn't mention print quality (e.g., line screen, etc.) of the magazines, but does say that it's hoped a similar H.P. technology will lessen the cost of reproducing out of print books.
